PRP & Microneedling To Reverse Hair Loss

What Is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a highly concentrated autologous serum that is rich in growth factors and cytokines such as platelet-derived growth factor, transforming growth factor, insulin-like growth factor, and vascular endothelial growth factor. These growth factors regulate and induce cell migration, attachment proliferation, and differentiation as well as promote extracellular matrix accumulation. PRP and the induction of growth factors has been used specifically in the treatment of bony defects, wound healing, gastrointestinal surgery, and more recently in aesthetic dermatology.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is the process of using a therapeutic device which can be rolled over an individual’s skin or scalp in which tiny needles penetrate the top layers of the surface they are on top of. This penetration causes micro trauma to the surface which stimulates a repair response that encourages growth to the desired area.

The Procedure

Upon visiting Face It Botox Bar, patients will be numbed prior to the procedure. While the area being treated is numbing, a small amount of blood will be drawn from the patient and the PRP serum will be processed. Prior to treatment, the surface area is cleaned, and the numbing cream will be removed.

The microneedling process will now begin to take place to help stimulate a repair response on the individuals scalp or skin. Following the microneedling treatment, the PRP serum will be topically applied, injected into the scalp, or a combination of both will be applied for total treatment and coverage of the area. Once full coverage is complete your hair is cleaned, and the procedure is complete.

How Many Treatments Will I Require?

The number of treatments differs for each patient. We recommend a series of 3-4 treatments spanned 12-14 weeks apart. Following the completion of treatment, continual maintenance therapies may be advised based on individual patient results. Please keep in mind that PRP is not a cure for hair loss, but that of a treatment to help stimulate hair growth.
